how to enjoy
Fits very well to rich and fat dishes, to roasts, to various meat and poultry dishes, like duck, goose, especially the Christmas goat, pork, lamb, beef to stews with meat and cabbages. Very tasty also for deer and fish, vegetable soup, bean soup or potato soup, cheese or mushrooms, bacon and ham.
Mugwort wants it hot! Therefore mugwort should always be cooked and to unfold its aroma. It can be removed after cooking. Mugwort tastes super delicious when combined with other spices, such as juniper, garlic, clove, and of course pepper.
about
The Germanic god Thor, so it is said, had a loincloth, made of mugwort, called Megingjardr. This belt has given him superhuman powers. But also mortals could have been given this incredible strength and endurance of the herb, when the belt was braided till Solstice, at June 21. Nowadays, unfortunately, nothingleft to know of all this, but a few thousand years ago mugwort was also used as a medicinal plant. Mugwort has a slightly bitter and tart taste. It smells a bit like mint or the juniper.
important notes
